Royal Plaza Montreux

Built in 1982, the Royal Plaza Montreux provides guests with a majority of rooms facing the lake, each with its own balcony. Indeed, the hotel was described by one American guest as 'The hotel with the one million dollar view'.

The Royal Plaza Montreux has just emerged from a major renovation and now offers 146 elegantly- appointed rooms and suites, redecorated in contemporary style. Each room is fully air-conditioned and equipped with double data-port phone with internet access and voice mail, WIFI, colour cable TV, pay TV, minibar and safe.

The refurbished lobby - now doubled in size - and the new Sunset Bar, with its burnished copper ceiling and wall-to-wall windows, offer panoramic views of the lake and the mountains beyond. Guests can enjoy cocktails and canapes and drink in the view as they watch the sun go down.

The hotel's a la carte restaurant, La Croisette, serves international and local cuisine to the highest standards. Fish from Lake Geneva is one of the specialities of Chef. The Italian-style Cafe du Lac, right by the lakeshore promenade, serves Italian meals, as well as ice cream, pastries, coffee and afternoon tea. The light and airy Belvedere is open for breakfast daily, Sunday brunch and various theme evenings and food festivals. It is also available for private functions.
